Ridge-top Queenslanders and workers' cottages
Paddington is known for timber workers' cottages and Queenslanders, many built on steep blocks that drop sharply from the road into the gullies. Front stairs, back stairs and narrow side paths are all common, so we plan these moves carefully.
Steep gullies and tight streets
Off Given and Latrobe Terraces, the side streets fall steeply into gullies, and many are narrow with parking on one side. We often use a smaller truck that can get closer to the house, and add crew to keep each carry short and safe. For most moves here, we recommend one of our smaller trucks. They're easier to park in tight streets and loading zones, and they still carry a walkboard or hydraulic platform lift. See our trucks and equipment.
Given and Latrobe Terraces
Paddington's ridgetop roads hold its antique shops, cafes and antique shops, while heritage sites include the Ithaca War Memorial and the Rosalie RSL Hall. Lower Paddington runs down towards Caxton Street and Suncorp Stadium, and upper Paddington follows Latrobe Terrace towards Bardon. Parking on these terraces is tight and timed, so we usually load from a side street.
