Dorrington and St Johns Wood were once separate suburbs, merged into Ashgrove in 1975, and locals still use those names. The suburb sits below Mount Coot-tha's foothills, with Enoggera Creek nearby. The Ashgrovian house style, with its gables and verandahs, is closely tied to this part of Brisbane. Those homes often have narrow front stairs that need careful planning for big furniture.
