Travel time, explained honestly

On a coast move, the drive is part of the job. Travel covers the journey from our depot to your pickup and back after delivery, and the drive between Brisbane and the Gold Coast is charged as time, the same as loading and unloading. Most Gold Coast moves use the M1 Pacific Motorway, which can be slow in peak hour, around the Logan and Gateway merges and on weekends and holidays. Traffic, roadworks, incidents and holiday periods can all change the actual time on the day, so we'll plan your start time to avoid the worst of it where we can. Your quote names the depot used. You're in control of your move

The biggest things that decide your hours are in your hands:

• How much you pack beforehand. Everything boxed, sealed and labelled loads far faster.
• What's ready and dismantled. Beds, desks and tables taken apart before we arrive save crew time.
• Access and parking at both ends. A booked lift, a loading dock or parking spot near the door and clear paths shorten every trip.
• When you want us to finish. Tell us if there's anything you'll move yourself.

Coastal units and high-rise buildings

High-rise and mid-rise units are common on the Gold Coast, so a smaller truck often suits. Many Gold Coast apartment buildings have small lifts, basement car parks with low clearance and strict loading dock times, so a smaller truck can often get closer to the door. Tell us the building rules at both addresses when you quote, and book the lift and loading dock early. Storage between homes

Settlement dates don't always line up. If you need somewhere to hold your belongings between homes, we have storage at our Eagle Farm depot. Use the storage calculator to size it.

Insurance

Our transit insurance has a $1,000 customer excess and policy exclusions. Tell us about valuable or fragile belongings before booking and read the transit insurance terms.

Tips for a smoother coast move

• Start early to stay ahead of motorway traffic, especially on Fridays and before public and school holidays.
• Book lifts and loading docks at both addresses, and check any truck height limits.
• Pack an essentials box you'll keep with you in the car.
• Have keys sorted for the new place before moving day, so the crew isn't waiting.
