Large Queenslanders on hilly blocks
Many Ascot homes are big, high-set Queenslanders and character homes, often with front stairs, wide verandahs and heavy timber furniture. These moves usually call for one of our larger trucks and a bigger crew, and we wrap antiques and pianos with extra care.
Race days and leafy streets
Streets around Racecourse Road and the racecourses get very busy on race days and during the spring carnival. Some side streets are narrow, with cars parked on both sides. We'll check the racing calendar before we lock in your date. For most homes here, we send one of our larger trucks, fitted with a walkboard, a hydraulic platform lift or both, so bigger households can move in one trip. See our trucks and equipment.
Racecourse Road and the racing precinct
Over a third of Ascot is taken up by the Doomben racecourse and its surrounds, with Eagle Farm racecourse on the border. Racecourse Road's shopping strip, lined with poinciana trees, runs down towards Hamilton and the river. Heritage-listed homes on Lancaster Road and Rupert Terrace show how long people have lived here. Many have original features worth protecting, so we bring plenty of blankets and floor protection to keep timber floors and doorways safe.
Close to our Eagle Farm depot
Our Eagle Farm depot is just minutes from Ascot, using Lancaster Road, Racecourse Road, Kingsford Smith Drive and Sandgate Road. We also move people in nearby Hamilton, Clayfield, Albion. Use the depot finder to see which depot is closest to both ends of your move.
Moving tips for Ascot
- Check the race calendar. Big race days can tie up the roads and parking around Doomben and Eagle Farm.
- Measure tall pieces. Older homes can have narrow internal doorways, so measure wardrobes and dressers first.
- Between homes? Our storage can bridge the gap, and the storage calculator helps you size it.
