What counts as a small move

  • Single items: a couch, fridge, bed, dining table or new purchase from a shop or marketplace.
  • Studios and one-bedroom units, including apartments with lifts.
  • Share house and student moves around St Lucia, Toowong, Kelvin Grove and the inner city.
  • A few rooms: downsizing, moving in with a partner, or sending a child's furniture to their first place.
  • Into or out of storage.

How a small move is quoted

Local small moves are charged by the hour, so you only pay for the time your move takes, and you stay in control of it: have everything grouped by the door and ready to go and the move finishes sooner. Tell us what's moving, both addresses and the access (stairs, lifts, parking), and your clear written quote sets out the hourly rate, any minimum and travel from the nearest of our five depots. Keep it simple

  • Group everything together near the door so loading is quick.
  • Pack in proper cartons. Our Box Shop has cartons, paper, tape and covers, with free delivery on orders over $200.
  • Book the lift if you're in a unit, and tell us the parking situation.
  • Dismantle beds and desks if you can, or tell us what needs dismantling.

How booking works

Every move starts with a clear written quote. You'll receive a booking confirmation email when you book, and a reminder 48 hours before your move. Tap Confirm My Move in that email, or let us know about any changes.

Do you move single items?

Yes. Tell us what the item is, its size and the access at both addresses, and we'll quote it in writing.

Do you move studio and one-bedroom units?

Yes. Tell us about the lift, stairs and parking at both addresses when you request a quote.

Is there a minimum charge for small moves?

Hourly moves have a quoted minimum, and travel covers the journey from our depot to your pickup and back. Your clear written quote sets out the hourly rate and how your move is charged.

Can you pick up furniture I've bought?

Yes. Tell us the pickup address, the item and any access details, and we'll quote the move.

Do I need to pack everything myself?

You can pack yourself with materials from our Box Shop, or ask us about packing in your quote. (Box Shop)
