Moving in Moorooka
Most of Moorooka's homes are on the elevated eastern side of the suburb. At the 2021 Census about six in ten homes were separate houses, about one in four were flats or apartments, and roughly one in six were townhouses or semis. None of the units were in blocks of four storeys or more, so unit moves here are typically walk-ups. About four in ten homes were rented. The suburb is served by Moorooka railway station on the Gold Coast line along its western edge, and the Moorvale neighbourhood sits around the intersection of Beaudesert Road and Mayfield Road.
Two busy roads and an elevated east side
Ipswich Road and Beaudesert Road are both busy, so we try to avoid stopping on them and plan routes through quieter streets. For walk-up units and townhouses, a smaller truck usually fits best. For houses, a larger truck makes sense. Our trucks carry a walkboard (ramp), a hydraulic platform lift, or both, which helps on sloping blocks on the elevated side.
