A name from a hilltop house
The area was first called Sandy Creek. In 1890 William Grimes named his house Tarragindi, after a Pacific Islander worker on his property, and he was told the name meant camp on a hill. The name was formally adopted in 1931.
Hills and post-war homes
Tarragindi grew mostly after the war, so there are many post-war homes, plus Queenslanders and new builds, often on steep blocks. For most homes here, we send one of our larger trucks, fitted with a walkboard, a hydraulic platform lift or both, so bigger households can move in one trip. See our trucks and equipment.
Reservoirs and bushland
A service reservoir was built on Tarragindi Hill in 1922, and Toohey Forest is the source of Sandy Creek. Steep driveways are common, so tell us about access when you book.
Close to our Mt Gravatt depot
Our Mt Gravatt depot is about 8 minutes' drive from Tarragindi, using Marshall Road and Logan Road. We also move people in nearby Holland Park and Greenslopes. Use the depot finder to see which depot is closest to both ends of your move.

How booking works
We charge by the hour, so you only pay for the time your move takes, and you stay in control of it: how much you pack before we arrive, how ready things are, and when you want us to finish. See how our hourly rates work. You'll get a booking confirmation email when you book and a reminder 48 hours before your move. Tap Confirm My Move in that email, or let us know about any changes.
