Named after General Gordon
The Gordon Park Estate went up for sale in 1890, named after General Charles Gordon of Khartoum. Many street names, like Gordon Street and Khartoum Street, come from his story. The suburb was dropped as a separate suburb in 1975 and reinstated in the 1990s after residents lobbied.
Interwar homes by the brook
Gordon Park is mostly interwar Queenslanders and post-war homes, with some townhouses and units. Low-lying streets near Kedron Brook can flood in heavy rain. Brookside parks and quiet streets
