Moving in Corinda
Corinda has two distinct kinds of street. Many of the older Queenslanders were built high on the hills around the lookout, while large bungalow-style homes were built later on the lower land towards Oxley Creek. At the 2021 Census about seven in ten homes were separate houses and just over one in five were units. Because the suburb is bounded by the river and Oxley Creek, a small share of low-lying areas can flood in extreme events, so it's worth checking an address on the council's Flood Awareness Map. Francis Lookout itself includes a small pioneer family burial ground dating from the 1860s.
High-set homes on the hill, bungalows below
High-set Queenslanders on the hillside often come with long front stairs and sloping yards, so we'll plan a bigger crew to keep each carry short. The flatter bungalow streets near the creek are easier, and a larger truck usually fits well there. Our trucks carry a walkboard (ramp), a hydraulic platform lift, or both. For unit moves near the station, a smaller truck may be the better choice.
