Chermside's heritage sites include the Chermside historical precinct, the former Chermside school building with its Arbor Day trees, Vellnagel's blacksmith shops and the H.M. Wheller Garden Settlement, an early retirement village. The suburb is a hub for buses, with the Chermside bus station near the shopping centre.
