Moving in Bardon
Bardon is house country. At the 2021 Census about eight in ten homes were separate houses and only about one in ten were units. The main roads, including Simpsons Road and Macgregor Terrace, follow the ridgelines, and the side streets that connect to them are among Brisbane's steepest. The Brisbane Heritage Register lists a number of Bardon's Queenslander houses, so many homes have timber stairs, verandahs and polished floors that need protecting.
Steep side streets and how we plan for them
On a steep street, where the truck parks matters as much as which truck we bring. For most Bardon family homes a larger truck makes sense, but on the steepest or narrowest streets a smaller truck parked closer can save a long uphill carry. Our trucks carry a walkboard (ramp), a hydraulic platform lift, or both, and we'll plan the load so heavy pieces travel safely on the grade. Tell us about stairs, sloping driveways and under-house storage when you ask for a quote.
