Named after a river and a commandant
Captain Patrick Logan explored the river in 1826 and named it the Darling. The Governor renamed it the Logan in his honour. Settlement spread after 1862, and Logan was declared a city on 1 January 1981. The Pacific Motorway and the Logan Motorway are the main routes in.
